Why does it matter to wait & not get married until AFTER bankruptcy??? Can the creditors go after my husband to-be`s income??? Or does it just mean more money has to be paid to the trustee?

If one has applied for bankruptcy, however; has not completed the steps and the original trustee advised they have `pulled one out of bankruptcy`…(I`m assuming this means the trustee has pulled themself out of the bankruptcy)can a person change trustees or do they have to re open their bankruptcy with the same trustee to get [...]
I have recently married. Before I met my husband I had gotten myself into about $70000 in debt. I am unable to pay this back and am considering filing a consumer proposal or for bankruptcy. My husband was in no way involved with the debt (he didn`t even know me when it happened!) does he [...]
I have at least one debt (Line of Credit and maybe 2 credit cards) that go back to a previous marriage. My ex-wife (separated over 5 years ago and now divorced) is also on file as co-applicant for these debts. I agreed to take these debts when we separated. I had talked to my [...]
If I owe GST through a professional corporation that I solely own, and is wound down and no longer operating, can the GST owed be included in a personal bankruptcy? If I understand correctly, I am personally responsible for the corporate GST even if I bankrupt the corporation. Correct? If so, can the GST be [...]
I have been avoiding collection agencies due to credit card debt for a minimum of 3 years and in some cases 4 yrs. My amount owing not including accumulated interest is around $22,000. I just had a baby and am on EI. As far as going back to work, this won`t be [...]
I am unemployed & have no assets, (ie: Jewerlly, cars, money, house, or antiques). Is it still a good idea to file for bankruptcy knowing the creditors gain nothing from me still, or should I just wait out the 5 yrs and keep telling them I have no money to pay them back?
It looks like both me and my husband are going to have to file bankruptcy.
My question deals with our cars. We both have new vehicles, we both need the vehicles to get to work as we live out of town. Will we lose both vehicles in the process. It is not our car [...]
My husband and I are trying to decide what to do. We have narrowed it down to either a proposal or a bankruptcy.
We really have no other options. We had a business that we put everything we had into and it did not work out.
We own our home and this is the biggest [...]
If my husband and I file for joint bankruptcy
is there any possible savings on trustee’s fees. Or we each pay the same 1800.
We have about 25,000 equity on the house, but I don`t think that should be a big problem, am I right about that?
Thanks for your help
