Last year I just bought a new house.
The house is only in my name when I bought it. Not to long after I transferred the house so that I now own it jointly with my wife.

I own a house. I just spoke to a Real Estate Agent and he told me it is worth between $45,000 and $50,000.
My current mortgage is about $25,000. Is it better to keep the house or turn it over to my trustee? My debts are $35,000 not including the mortgage.

I owe quite a bit of back taxes. However, I was wondering if before declaring bankruptcy is there a minimum amount of money which I am allowed to keep (i.e. can CRA seize all of the money in my bank account even if the result is that it will put me on the street)?

I was reading and apparently under the new C-12 law and I think it says student loans can be cleared by a bankruptcy after 5 years if I can prove financial hardship. I know this was just passed but I would just like to get a feel for whether or not I would qualify […]
