I have a bit of debt that is all my debt. It is not my common law`s debt, it is mine. Does my common law have to be involved if I file a bankruptcy?

I have read your page about the consumer proposal and I think most of it makes sense. My question is how do I know what I need to offer to my creditors? Otherwise I understand the process, but I need a little help with this part. Thanks!
If I file bankruptcy do I lose my car. It isn`t anything special, but I need it for work. Nothing else I own do I really care about, but I need a vehicle.
How do I know if I should be considering the filing of a bankruptcy?
