My creditors won’t stop calling!!!
How do I make them stop? Is there anything I can say when they call… I can’t take this much longer!

There are a few options available to stop these types of calls.
1. Try to make arrangements with collection agent to make payments over a period of time. Depending on how far along with the collection process you are the collection agents may or may not be interested in this, but it is always something to explore.
2. Look into obtaining a consolidation loan at the bank and using the proceeds to pay the debt / debts in question in full. (sometimes if you are able to make a lump sum payment like this the collection agents will be willing to settle for less than face value).
3. Consider obtaining help through credit counseling and filing under the Orderly Payment of Debt program (this is like a consolidation loan but done through the court and administered by Credit Counseling Services of Alberta).
4. File a consumer proposal or a bankruptcy.
For more information on any of these you are best to contact licensed trustee and they will be able to walk you through the advantages and disadvantages of these and determine which solution will fit your situation the best.
