do you have any idea about when and if the new bankruptcy law is going to come into effect. I have problems with my student loans and really need to know.

Unfortunately we are unsure where things sit. the last word we had was on June 13, 2007 and it suggested that Bankruptcy Reform was back on track, but now the house is not sitting until the fall.
As a result it is unlikely that any changes would be implemented prior to the fall of 2008.
