I’ve been reading through your website and some of the articles you have written and found them to be very informative. The only thing that is still confusing me deals with the credit bureau.

I’ve read on some sites that bankruptcy is erased from your credit history after 7 years and some says 6 years. I filed a bankruptcy and was discharged back in 2003. so when will this bankruptcy be erased from my credit file?

The informaiton that is provided by the credit bureau states clearly that as a result of a bankruptcy you will have an R9 listed with the credit bureau for a maximum period of 6 years from the date of discharge.

So if you were discharged in 2003 I would expect that sometime in 2009 you credit rating will be automatically purged.

However, you are able to rebuild a credit rating faster than the maximum and you can do that by following the steps provided at teh following link: credit repair
