I have a bunch of small debt but the big one I still have to pay child support arrears. If I file for bankrupy will it clear me from this?

While the filing of a bankruptcy or a proposal will release you from the majority of your unsecured debt, child support or maintentance arrears is not one of them.

This doesn’t mean that you don’t have to disclose this debt in bankruptcy or proposal documents. These debts actually must be listed, get a priority for any distributions from teh estate but the balance will survive after bankruptcy.
