Living in Edmonton, impact of bankruptcy on spouse

I live in Edmonton and am considering filing for bankruptcy. If I do does my husband have to file? And if I do file for bankruptcy does it affect him in any way?

As long as your husband hasn’t signed onto any of your debt he really shouldn’t feel much of an impact. Really all he will have to worry about is getting into the habit of collecting reciepts for puchases as you will be obligated to file statements with your trustee about household expenditures.

However, if he has signed on any of your debt he will be he will be responsible for anything he has signed on.
