my husband has a gambling problem. he is going to have to file bankruptcy. do i have to file just because he does? we have joint bills - such as the house, the car loan, the trailer loan, but everything else is in his name. Am I going to loose everything over stupid decisions made by my husband?

If your husband files for bankruptcy and you do not, any bills that are listed in your name you will still be responsible for. Your husband is not able to release you from your debts by him filing for a bankruptcy. The only way you can be cleared from those debts is if you file for bankruptcy.
As for what you are or aren’t going to loose if you file for a bankruptcy, this is something you must contact a local trustee to discuss as it is dependent on the type and value of property in question. However, I can say that in most situations people don’t loose many of their assets when they file for a bankruptcy, so I wouldn’t expect that you would.
