One of my creditors (Visa) is threatening to `take legal action`. The Visa is in my name, no one elses and has never been used by my husband. But the collector is telling me that it is my husbands responsiblity to take care of these debts as he his the primary bread winner. Is this true. Is he responsible for this debt.

The only way another party can be held responsible for the debt is if they have signed on or used the debt. As long as your husband has done neither of these then you have nothing to worry about as legally it is not something he is responsible for.
