One question, my husband just tole me he has to file for bankruptcy. We have small children and I don’t want to loose my house because of this bankruptcy. Will this happen? Can our house be taken from us? Are there any other assets they can take? Thanks

This is a very involved quesiton and one that requires more detail to answer. As such you are best to contact me directly and we can run through the necessary details.
Having said this, in the province of Alberta there are a great deal of exemptions available. We have the largest exemption for equity in a home and as a result very rarely do we find people loose their house, but this is an important issue and one we will have to look very carefully at.
