Hi
I am not sure if this is the right place to ask or not…
I started appying for credit cards using a `Potential` business that I never did get going and `potential` income, or listed income both my roomate & I make TOGETHER, so it was really false info. Does this mean I can go to jail as I am thinking the creditors will call me a liar???? I am only on social assistance and have been disabled for yrs but am young. Now I owe in debt $70,000 and I am afraid they will put me in jail as I have NO assets. Please give me a heads up if I am now considered a criminal

You are right that you have done something you shouldn’t. Filling out a credit application based on false information is fraudulent. Now likely jail wouldn’t be the answer, but if the credit card agency wanted to pursue charges it sounds as if they very easily could.
