I have been looking at filing a bankruptcy for the last year. I have more debt than I can afford to pay back. I am sure I qualify but I need to know how my taxes will be impacted. If I file for bankruptcy now, Nov. 25, will the taxes I owe up until the date be included in the bankruptcy?

Your taxes will be included up to the date of your bankruptcy. What your trustee will do, and you will need to provide them with all the necessary information to do so, is prepare a pre-bankruptcy return which will cover the period from January 1 to the date of bankruptcy. If there is any money owing on that return, as it happened prior to bankruptcy, it will be cleared as a result of the bankruptcy.
