Child Tax Benefit

If I file a bankruptcy will it affect my child tax credit? Will I still receive it or will it go to my trustee?

A bankruptcy won’t have any direct impact on your Child Tax Benefit (CTB). So you will continue to receive your CTB as normal. The only thing that changes is that the CTB is considered part of your total income and must be used to calculate whether or not there is any Surplus payments required under the superintendent surplus guideline.
