will me filing for bankruptcy impact my husband?

Hello,
I had debt in my maiden name before I was married. Now I am married and I can`t afford to pay them. If I file for bankruptcy will my husband have anything to do with going bankrupt? I do not have an option of paying anything back, as I have started a job paying minimum wage, have two kids and husband is not working presently.

As long as your husband has not signed on any of your debts there really isn’t any direct impact on him if you file for bankruptcy. The one thing he will have to do is to assist you in collecting receipts for anything purchased by the household.
