I have found out what happens to my RRSP`s if I file for bankruptcy, but what about my LIRA. Does it follow the same rule that RRSP`s do so that I only loose “contributions made in the 12 months prior to the date of bankruptcy.”
Is my Lira considered exempt

When dealing with a LIRA and bankruptcy the laws are identical to that of RRSP’s. So as long as you haven’t made the contributions in the last 12 months prior to filing for bankruptcy the LIRA would be considered exempt and not be lost as part of the bankruptcy
