unfinished bankruptcy

Hello,

I have a problem, I declared bankruptcy in Ontario in 2004 and I did not complete my duties. I am pretty sure that my trustee removed themselves from my file and that to my knowledge i was never discharged.

My problem is that I now live in Alberta and don`t know what do i need to do to take care of this mess. Any help would be appreciated.

This is not an easy process to deal with, but what you need to do is contact your original trustee. If they are willing to get reappointed there will be a cost to being reappointed, then you will have to finish all your original duties that were outstanding from the bankruptcy, then a court application will need to be made by the trustee to request a discharge. Now be advised there may be a penalty imposed by the court for failure to complete things in a reasonable fashion, but you won’t know that until the court application is made.
