creditors calling, bankruptcy imminent

I know I need to file bankruptcy and I am planning to call a trustee today to set up a consulttation for next week

But right now I am getting dozens of calls from creditors. For the past 3 weeks i have just been ignoring them, and most of them never leave a message.

My question is should i pick up the phone and tell them that I maybe going into bankruptcy? I’m a bit worried about telling them this as if i don’t end up into quick enough they may take me to court before i file.

While you don’t need to tell the creditors whether or not you are going to file for bankruptcy, it may help to reduce some of the pressure. Now legally speaking the creditors are not required to stop calling until the bankruptcy is officially in place, but if you tell them in advance that you are going to file for bankruptcy, who the trustee you are planning on using is, when you expect things will be completed, then they will likely reduce the quantity of calls you are haveing to deal with.
