If I have been out of school for seven years but still have Students Loans and I file a proposal, can I include these creditors in the proposal? Or do they survive?

You have correctly identified the 7 rule associated with Student Loans that came into force on July 8, 2009. This rule applies to both the filing of a bankruptcy or a consumer proposal.

So if you have not attended school in the last 7 years and file a consumer proposal your student loan will be cleared along with your other unsecured debts.
